The Curry County Community Development Department, comprised of the Building,  Planning, and Economic Development divisions, is located in the lower level of the Curry County Courthouse annex at 94235 Moore Street Suite 113.  Our office is open Monday through Thursday from 7-5 but closed daily from noon - 1 PM for lunch.  You can reach our office by calling 541-247-3304.

Land Use Planning

 Lone Ranch Beach area north of Brookings.

The Planning Division serves Curry County by:

Facilitating land use planning through the Curry county Comprehensive Plan and Zoning and Land Division Codes. 

Administering regulations relating to flood/natural hazard damage prevention as well as rural address and road naming system management. 

Reviewing and authorizing development permit applications in coordination with other applicable regulating agencies.

Environmental Sanitation

The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ)is responsible for processing applications for septic systems in Curry County.   

DEQ has a revolving loan program to assist homeowners and small businesses with septic system repairs and replacements; the inquires about this program can also be addressed to the number above.

Building Codes Division


The Building Division provides services integral to safe construction and habitation of structures in Curry County, Port Orford and Gold Beach by evaluating construction plans, processing building permit applications and conducting inspections for:


Stick-built and certain commercial and industrial structures consistent with Oregon State Building Codes. 

Set-up of manufactured homes in Curry County in compliance with Oregon Manufactured Dwellings Code. 

Plumbing and mechanical installations consistent with the Mechanical Codes.

The Building Division also works with other groups focused on construction safety and compliance with required building codes, including the Building Codes Appeal Board.
